The learning outcomes of this competency are to enable the trainees to carry out pregnancy and gynaecology sonography and produce high quality sonographic images with accurate clinical correlation for obstetrics and gynaecology sonography.
Ascertain patient’s prerequisites for ultrasound examination.
Prepare ultrasound equipment.
Prepare patient for renal artery doppler ultrasound examination.
Carry out renal artery doppler ultrasonography.
Capture ultrasound images.
Interpret ultrasound results.
Monitor patient’s condition.
Archive ultrasound images.
Document preliminary sonographic findings.
Communicate test results.
Carry out housekeeping activities.
Entry Requirement
Occupational prerequisites for a certified sonographer include the following:
Be in good physical health; and
Have at least a diploma in medical sonography (Note: Qualification must encompass General Sonography, Paediatric Sonography, Obstetrics & Gynaecology Sonography and Vascular Sonography).
Practitioners who have undergone specific field training at a recognised institution with minimum three years’ experience will be considered as certified specialty sonographer (example Obstetrics & Gynaecology Sonographer, Cardiac Sonographer.
